The Challenge

Councils and Cities own and maintain a large number of assets, including sporting grounds and facilities.

These facilities are typically hired out to local sporting groups and community groups for a broad range of uses through the year. These groups typically pay for the hire of these facilities, which often include kitchen facilities, community halls, clubrooms, changing facilities and flood lighting on sporting grounds.

Excess power consumption is a considerable issue for these facilities, with the risk of lights and other amenities being left on without the councils knowledge or ability to switch off remotely. Many local Councils and Cities still have manual billings for the venue hire, which are not based on actual power usage, and do not therefore do not encourage responsible power usage.

The Solution

VROC OASIS can be used as an interface for both the city and the community. Community and sporting groups can book the facilities in the platform, and then through the platform turn-on power and lights to the facilities.

This same platform can be used by the Council to monitor the facility in real time, with the ability to turn on and off power, lights and even hot water systems to conserve energy. The Council can also use the platform to get accurate power consumption data to feed into it's billing system.

By actively monitoring the facility, the artificial intelligence platform can also be used for predictive maintenance on critical infrastructure, and can help the Council learn more about the facility usage to help with city planning.

The platform can also be connected to access control systems, building management systems and HVAC systems, to integrate and provide a greater level of control and optimisation.
